FSLCI Inaugural Forum on
Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation
As part of the LCM 2015’s partnership with the FSLCI, a special day for FSLCI members will be organized around the following three workshops on the 3rd of September, which won’t be covered during the LCM 2015:
1. Principles for Life Cycle professionals
The idea behind this workshop is to debate a set of draft principles that will have been developed and presented to you in advance, which are meant to represent key principles for the promotion of Life Cycle Approaches. These principles are meant to provide the foundation for a common identification of values shared by professionals working with Life Cycle approaches in business, science and policy organisations. They are an important basis for any advocacy work that we as a community will undertake in going forward.
2. Enhancing Communication to mainstream Life Cycle Management
In order to radically increase the take up of Life Cycle based approaches in business and government, life cycle professionals need to enhance global collaboration among themselves, as well as with others and communicate to a wider set of stakeholders. This workshop will look into ways of reaching out to stakeholders that can help us significantly multiply our impacts and draw attention to the need for applying life cycle thinking on a broad scale such as journalists, investors, or chambers of commerce. Together with stakeholders from these groups we will discuss how to best target these audiences and how to get them engaged with our community.
3. The role of LC approaches in accounting
This workshop will look at the role of LC approaches in accounting. It will discuss strategies to implement LC approaches in business measurement, valuation and reporting of environmental and social capital impacts and performance. The workshop seeks to bring academics business practitioners from those different disciplines Life Cycle management and management accounting together to discuss existing research on environmental and sustainability management accounting and possible opportunities for collaboration.
